PROMISED LAND

In the Bolivian highlands, at about 4,500 meters above sea level, the land is rocky and barren. It's a tough cow hide where is difficult to bury a plow. In this place, closer to heaven than to earth, the few cultivable areas administered by small family farmers are increasingly reduced after distribution by inheritance. This makes unsustainable the subsistence farming in subsequent generations.
In order to continue feeding their families, hundreds of farmers of the Landless Workers' Movement leave the highlands in search of fertile land in the jungle regions of Bolivia.
